In partnership with leading academic and technology institutions, we contribute to cutting-edge research and development projects.
Our work includes designing and deploying innovative IT solutions, encompassing augmented and virtual reality technologies.
Project Objective: Experimental validation of a solution for the integration of renewable energy sources, intelligent energy demand management, and community energy modelling.
In cooperation with the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava and other project partners, we are contributing to the development and testing of a low-carbon energy concept for university facilities. The project outcomes will serve as a methodological foundation for the broader implementation of low-carbon energy strategies in practice.
The project aims to expand expertise in digitalization to foster flexible energy services and community energy initiatives, as part of the HORIZON-CL5-2021-D3-02-11 call within Horizon Europe, Pillar 2 – Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness, Cluster 5: Climate, Energy and Mobility.
This call is designed to assist applicants with prior experience in Horizon Europe framework program calls.
The project for an automated beer production system was initiated by students from the Slovak University of Technology (STU), under the guidance of faculty members from the Institute of Process Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Bratislava.
The project was realized through a collaboration with the craft brewery NILIO—the first non-alcoholic brewery in Slovakia.
The Slovak Centre for Digital Innovation project is funded by the European Union’s NextGenerationEU and the Recovery and Resilience Plan under Call No. 17I03-04-V01.
SCDI is the largest EDIH (European Digital Innovation Hub) in the Slovak Republic and holds the Seal of Excellence awarded by the European Commission.

In the first issue of its newsletter, *E-bulletin* (1/2023), the Research Agency highlighted two successful projects selected from a total of 162. One of these is the International Centre of Excellence for Research into Intelligent and Secure Information and Communication Technologies and Systems – Phase II" project.
This project is being implemented by a consortium of four institutions: Atos IT Solutions and Services, s.r.o. (applicant); the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (partner/research institution); the Institute of Materials and Machine Mechanics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (partner/research institution); and our company, SFÉRA, a.s. (partner/business entity).
The project focuses on independent research and development, industrial research, and the experimental development of new intelligent solutions. These solutions address current trends, the requirements of Directive (EU) 2018/2001 on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources, and the need to ensure high-quality, managed energy supply. We are delighted that a project implemented with our company's support has received this form of recognition.
The Research Agency is a state-funded budgetary organization with legal personality, linked to the state budget through the budget chapter of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic. It was established on January 1, 2007, and operated under the name "Agency of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic for EU Structural Funds" (ASFEU) until June 30, 2015.
